Roger Garcia
Roger Garcia is in his 30th year in music education. He is employed in the Walla Walla School District serving as the District Music Coordinator and the Band Director at Garrison Middle School.
Garcia is also the clarinet instructor at Whitman College. He is an active adjudicator and clinician in the Southeastern Washington and Northeast Oregon region. He has performed as a clarinetist with the Virginia Wind Symphony, the Walla Walla Symphony, the Inland Northwest Symphony, and the Mid Columbia Symphony.
Garcia has served on the state Washington Music Educators Board for two years, the Walla Walla Symphony Board for nine years, and the Columbia Basin Music Educators Association as President and Treasurer.
Garcia received his bachelor’s degree at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, and his Master's Degree in Clarinet Performance from the University Of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. His principal teachers were Dennis Zeisler and John Mohler. He lives in Waitsburg with his wife, Maria and is the father of two adult children Maya and Will.
