Executive Director
The Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival (WWCMF) has enjoyed 18 years of increasing success under the direction of a sole founder and artistic director. This growth has necessitated a search for an Executive Director, who will work in conjunction with the artistic director and a board of directors. The Executive Director will oversee all operational aspects of WWCMF, ensuring its financial stability, successful execution of events, and community engagement.
Successful candidates for this full-time position will have a bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business or arts management; 10+ years of nonprofit management experience, with at least five years in a supervisory role; strong financial management, fundraising, and strategic planning skills; excellent organizational, leadership and communication abilities; and, the ability to collaborate effectively with artists, staff and community stakeholders.
Annual Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 dependent on experience. Medical and dental benefits are offered.

Job Summary
Reports to: WWCMF Board of Directors
The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival (WWCMF), ensuring its financial sustainability, successful execution of events, and community engagement. The ED works closely with the Artistic Director (AD) and the Board of Directors (BoD) to achieve the organization’s strategic goals and mission.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight: Manage all festival operations, including annual and long-term budgeting, marketing, compliance, and office management.
Fundraising and Development: Collaborate with the BoD and AD to plan and implement fundraising initiatives, including individual giving, corporate sponsorship, and grant writing for foundations, trusts, and government sources.
Financial Management: Oversee financial reporting, including the annual 990, and manage the reserve fund and investments with the BoD and bookkeeper.
Staff Management: Hire, supervise, and manage year-round and seasonal staff, ensuring effective team performance.
Logistical Planning: Develop and implement logistical plans for festival seasons, covering all aspects of concert production, transportation, and equipment management.
Contract Negotiation: Work with the AD to negotiate and execute contracts with individual artists and arts management firms.
Community Engagement: Represent WWCMF within the Walla Walla community, maintaining visibility and fostering positive relationships with businesses and peer nonprofits.
Volunteer Coordination: Oversee the recruitment and management of volunteers to support festival operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, or Arts Management preferred.
10+ years of nonprofit management experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
Proven experience in nonprofit management, especially in the arts.
Strong financial management, fundraising, and strategic planning skills.
Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication abilities.
Ability to collaborate effectively with artists, staff, and community stakeholders.
